What is the Bradford Library Junior Librarian Program?
It is a program where children will be selected to be a “Junior Librarian”.
There will be several children selected to be a Junior Librarian. We will select
two Junior Librarians for each time slot, one in grades K-2 and 3-5. The time
slots will be dependent on the number of applicants. The minimum time slot
will be a week but could be longer.
What is expected of the Junior Librarian?
Our Junior Librarians will be asked to make a book display. The books could be
from their favorite author, their favorite illustrator, their favorite genre or
their favorite books. Miss Bonnie will assist the children as needed (or if
needed) in determining their display. The Junior librarians selected will also
have to fill out a fact sheet about themselves and we will have a bulletin
board near their display introducing our librarian with a picture and
fun/interesting facts about them. We will not use last names, if
children/families do not want that shared with the community. The Junior
Librarian and their picture and displays will be included in the library’s social
media.
Who can be a Junior Librarian?
Any student in K-5th grade can be considered for one of the Junior Librarian
spots. All applicants MUST have a Bradford Library card. All applications
must be completely filled out by the applicant. Parents must sign the form,
giving their child permission to participate in the program.
